WASHINGTON – A small business owner from Oklahoma City who battled a brain tumor and overcame challenges generated by 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina to lead her environmental remediation firm to success was today named National Small Business Person of the Year.

WASHINGTON – Ten financial services institutions that focus on assisting small businesses were hailed as important resources for the nation’s economic recovery today at the annual National Small Business Week sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON – Small businesses suffering financial hardship as a result of the slow economy may be eligible to receive temporary relief to keep their doors open and get their cash flow back on track through to a new loan program announced today by SBA Administrator Karen G. Mills.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration today honored its resource partners for their achievements in advancing small business growth and development.  A California SCORE Chapter, a New Jersey Women’s Business Center, and a Small Business Development Center in Oklahoma were recognized for their exceptional service and support of their regional small business communities.

The U.S. Small Business Administration will honor the participating companies in its Emerging 200 Initiative (e200) at a graduation ceremony in Atlanta on January 6th.
